WIP Wednesday

There have been happy things and good times at the homestead.

Hot cups of coffee in those reusable to-go cups from The Starbucks that make my life less crazy. I drink half a cup of home and finish the rest at the office. AHHHH. Less Crazy thank you coffee gods!

I also managed to make some rounds on my Golden State Warriors playoff socks.  I'm about 2/3s finished with sock #2 and then after much influence from the blogophere and you lovely commenters I'm on to Flaum! I'm sure there will be other things socks going on as well ...

I also have read a little bit. Amazing, I know. The boys sort of gave me a snort for my combination light mystery/romance but it's like watching an episode of Rosemary and Thyme. Maybe it's not brilliant but it's fun and comforting. Those two qualities actually mean a lot to me right now :) It's such a fun easy read, that I am almost done after a few nights of a few hours!

And of course there has been family, friends and food. My inlaws came over for brunch on Memorial Day after they stayed Sunday night in the city. We cooked and prepped food like there were 15 of us, but hey ... that's what we do and nothing went to waste. (I'm still eating those biscuits and I polished off the cherries at the office yesterday!)

Oh there was SO much more ... and I didn't even eat any smoked salmon!
My exercise remains at the bookends of the week, but that will do. There is plenty to keep in progress in the meantime. Just a few more days and then we are back to weekending.

  1. I have a reusable Starbucks cup, too, and I tote it to work with my second cup of the day!
I'm looking forward to your Flaum. It's on my list, too.

  2. Rosemary and Thyme - I enjoy the episodes but haven't seen one on ages. It's time to check Netflix for the series.

Love the striped socks! I really need to start knitting again.

  3. Do so love those socks! I'm looking for some fun summer reads so I'll have to give that series a looking into. I do like Rosemary and Thyme. In fact, I love all Britcoms because they feature people that look like people instead of runway models.

  4. Love the playoff socks. All of my teams were out before the finals ---- no Super Bowl, no Stanley Cup and hell no basketball finals. The Magic stink! LOL

Have a great weekend. It will be here before you know it.

  5. So glad there are good things and happy times. The socks are ace, and I'm a big fan of reading things that are comforting and fun. Flaum is a great choice, I know it will really suit you. The food looks delicious, cherries are one of my favourite things. Enjoy the rest of the week, and have a lovely weekend Ellen. CJ xx

  8. It's all good in the end, right?

I think the socks look great, and I have read only the first in the Royal Spyness series, but really enjoyed it. "Rosemary and Thyme" used to be on here, on a channel we kinda/sorta could tune in. My husband found it hilarious that I would "watch" it that way. :-)

  9. Your blue and yellow socks are wonderful. I love Rosemary and Thyme and could watch the episodes over and over. I also love watching Inspector Lewis and Midsomer Murders. The British shows are the best! I guess it might be hard to understand how a program named Midsomer "Murders" might be peaceful and low key but they are.

  13. Very cute sock! Sock knitting is all I've been able to manage lately (and not much of it).. I've been a little too distracted by our new baby.

  14. fun socks! Looks like lots of yummy treats, too. I just finished Dead Wake (very interesting) and am now reading Devil in the White City, interesting information about Chicago in the 1890s.

  15. I love light mysteries as palate cleansers when I've been reading a series or something bigger previously. They are also great to get back in the grove if I haven't been reading for a while.

  16. Fun stripey socks! And hey, nothing wrong with light mystery/romances. They are my go-to reads for when life gets too hectic & stressful. Accompanied by baked goods & coffee of course ;)
