Friday Finish in the past and present

It really is true, there is no bigger thanks for a handknit gift than that of knowing it's used. (For baking I think it's if someone asks for seconds, for you to make it again or for the recipe!)

Thank you guys for the nice words about the handwarmers I've been knitting. I have to admit you might be seeing them a bit on the blog since it seems to be what I've been knitting a lot of.

Here is a picture of my little friend when she was just a wee elementary school lass with her original handwarmers. These were a lovely wool, Crystal Palace yarns I believe.



And here she is photo courtesy of her big brother who is besties with my son after she got them this morning.

    Sweet photos! Based on that smile, I think this girl will get another pair of mitts in a year or two. 😉

      This girl and her can always get a knit gift from me. In a few years I will have to knit her big sister a pair of College socks. hehe

    My thing right now is hats for preemies and newborns. It's like candy! I just can't stop making them. At least until I run out of yarn.

    It's so nice to have someone to knit for that appreciates it. My gifted knits seem to disappear into oblivion.

      I am at the point where I'm really selective about who I will gift knit for. Though I'm weak with socks.

    Yay for mitten-receiving success! How cute you knitted her a pair when she was a toddler. Too cute.
    LOL'd at how your son's friend slept through the earthquake. Yep, Y'Area kids. My kids were a bit scared as they were more used to the dull jolts at the apt. Man, I would love to watch the HP movies w/ya! It's so fun watching with fans. The husband asks too many questions as he's forgotten details - we debated on how many Horcruxes there were.
