I have been inspired by The Wandering Cat not just because she designed the socks I'm trying to do, but because she talks about using her lunch time to knit.
I haven't done this in a while and I made an effort this week to insert some into the schedule. (I often use this time for errands, like the dry cleaners, birthday gift shopping, grocery shopping, and you know, eating, ha!)
Well thanks TWC! Because it was so nice to knit a little out there in the world. I'm going to make sure I block out one day every week for a little lunch knitting.
It's a great idea, I need to try and fit some knitting into my day, I hardly ever seem to get round to it. I hope you have a good weekend Ellen. CJ xx
ReplyDeleteI knit almost every day at my desk during lunch time. I just do my eating while I work. Haha! Your sock looks great!
ReplyDeleteBefore I retired, I kept a knitting project in my desk to sneak in a row or two at odd moments. It adds up, and it helped me deal with a stressful day.
ReplyDeleteLunch knitting sounds like a great idea, now if I could only knit and drive and eat my lunch all at the same time.
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Meredith
I use to knit or read during my lunch hour all the time. It was amazing what I could accomplish in that one hour. Now I go to the gym, but when the warmer, non-winter weather arrives, or at least the ice and snow are gone, I'll go back to running before work so my lunch hour will be free again. I think it's a wonderful idea to carve out one lunch hour per week to knit.
ReplyDeleteOhhh I love the sock cuff. You are so smart to start lunch time knitting....I bet it puts you in a great mood for the afternoon workload
ReplyDeleteWhat great idea. How did I not think of this???
ReplyDeleteI use to knit in meetings too - but someone complained... though everyone else is allowed to fiddle with their blackberries and iphones....
ReplyDeleteSock is looking good!
I used to love my lunchtime knitting sessions when I was a teacher. I am amazed at how much I got done in that small window of dedicated time. That's the problem with being retired....your time is never your own when The Mister is looking over your shoulder all day.
ReplyDeleteNice! Love that yarn, what is it?
ReplyDeleteP.S. We don't get lunch breaks (911 dispatcher) LOL!
It's Christmas at Downton, Lorna's Laces Solemate (sockyarn). It never made it to it's proper KAL FO. I like this much better :)
DeleteIt makes me sad dispatchers don't get a lunch break, it makes such a difference to step away and scarf your food, hehe.
Meant to add, I've totally answered 911 with a mouthful ...
ReplyDeleteLove those cute socks! Have a Happy Valentine's Day weekend!
ReplyDeleteThat is a great way to slip in some knitting. That is a winning colorway.
ReplyDeleteThose socks are beautiful!
ReplyDeleteyour socks are great! love the colors~ happy belated valentines day :) xo
ReplyDeleteThat is a great plan! And your sock is looking terrific. I need to find a job with a set lunch break :) 12 hour shifts with only a ten minute break (on the less crazy days) gets kinda old fast.
