I've decided ...

I've decided to join The Twitter. I will see how much of an ass I can make of myself within 140 characters, because really, why not? All my friends are doing it and I hear not only can I get some great news updates but I can also follow some good sports stuff AND ... some friends. I don't really know if I'll have much to say there, but an account has been opened. elns was taken so it's @theellenreport because I'm creative like that. Why yes, that was sarcasm.

I've also decided that since I'm going to be more adventurous in the world of social media (no this does not involve scantily clad selfies, no worries) I should probably get a decent phone. Somewhere along the life of my current phone I got really tired of my bulky case and well, removed it. Then I went the extra mile and I removed my screen protector. Now the front of my iPhone looks like it has been chewed upon by coyotes. (How do you pronounce it? Kai-Yotes or Kai-Yo-Tees? Just wondering)

I'm getting older and so are my eyes. I'm going to get a slightly bigger phone. Some friends of mine have warned me against it, that this would be signalling defeat, but really how sweet are they to think that I'm only signaling it? ha!

Lastly I've decided I'm going to try really hard to not give myself any knitting deadlines this second half of the year. I'm knitting. I'm knitting slowly, but I'm enjoying and really, why the heck not. (this is slowly turning into a life motto that my mother never wanted me to have. It's a word bedazzled in disorganization)

Crap, I've decided babies throw a wrench in that plan seeing how they have deadlines and whatnot ...

  1. I don't use social media very much - Facebook is only used for new and following community events.

  2. I love Twitter for news. I don't put too much of myself out there anymore since no one was listening but I do love reading all the little bits and pieces others post.

  3. and what about instagram? I just got a new phone, too, and this one actually has a decent camera....instagram has turned out to be rather fun. and news? it's always bad. I'm living with my head in the sand.

  4. Well done on venturing into Twitter, I shall be interested to hear how you get on. Deadlines are far too stressful things aren't they, knitting quietly and calmly is the definitely the way to go. CJ xx

  5. I'm on Twitter and I really enjoy it!

And I love your idea to take your time knitting. I always figure that unless I was making something specifically sized for a newborn, baby gifts can be flexible as far as when they are received.

  6. You go, Ellen. I've stayed off of Twitter because I don't want to get into trouble.

  9. I'm in the kai-yo-tees camp, but who knows if I'm right? LOL

I was on Twitter, but really didn't "get" it. The only feed I really followed was Sarcastic Rover. I do miss that, but not enough to get back onto the Twit.

Hope you have a good time. (I AM still on Facebook ---- look me up if you are too ---- Dee Kissinger.)

  10. "Bedazzled in disorganization." Love it. Can I steal it? It totally describes my life.

I've been meaning to get more into the social media world. I do have a twitter account, but can't remember anything about it. I do occasionally Instagram.

  11. Ko-yo-ta is how I pronounce it, in my head. Aloud I say it the same as Dee. Babies don't wait? Who woulda thunk it!!! With 2 more baby items to go I am not sweating it for the arrivals. One is already here and the sweater is barely started. The other will be a blanket for November. That one MIGHT be on time.

  14. Loved everything about this post! I haven't gone to twitter yet. Been thinking about it, but like you, I don't know what I really have to say. Maybe one day. Hurray for giving up knitting deadlines. Takes the pressure off so you can enjoy. But dang, babies do throw a little kink into things.
