I really do love this Patons Kroy sock yarn. As discussed on Instagram, it's a total work horse yarn and it's pretty and it's squashy.
It might be a little heavier in weight than some of the other sock yarns, but I don't think that's a problem. Maybe fiddle a bit with a US 2 but this was a very satisfying knit. I was sad it took me a little longer than I intended, but that's pretty much my knitting life in a nutshell.
NEVER ENOUGH TIME TO KNIT.
I tried last night. I was exhausted. Technically I was trying to fix a hole in a sock, but my eyeballs were swimming and I couldn't read the small instructions on my phone very well. I will have to do battle with that another day.
Love those socks!Patons Kroy isn't glitzy but it sure does make good socks!
ReplyDeleteI love the color and proportions of this pair of socks-great job! Welcome home socks!
ReplyDeleteAmazing socks! I love knitting with Patons Kroy (I use US2), and the yarn wears and launders well, too. It's a good product and reasonably priced.
ReplyDeletebeautiful color way and I agree that is a work horse yarn!!
ReplyDeleteKroy is a great yarn - and they have such a range of colours. I like it for Dave because he can be really hard on his socks.
ReplyDeleteIt's also great for gifting because of the price (even better when you get it on sale) and you don't have to worry about non-knitters not knowing how to care for more delicate knits.
That pair looks great!
Nope, there is never enough time to knit!
ReplyDeleteLove the socks. I do find that the yardage is a bit short for my usual patterns and I have to have shorter legs or buy a third skein.
When you are raising a child you have not enough time for luxurious knitting. When you eyeballs hurt, just close those pretty eyes
ReplyDeleteHey girl, these socks rock. The colorway is terrific. I usually don't go near the yarn section at Michael's or JoAnn's and if I do, don't visit the sock yarn shelves. I may have to now on my next trip.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful socks! Love that colorway! Every day seems to go a bit faster, doesn't it?
ReplyDeleteSuch a pretty colorway and socks! I recently bought some Kroy and can't wait to knit with it. It feels really durable so will be a good choice for a pair of hubby socks.
ReplyDeleteHow did I miss this post? I LOVE those socks. I had no idea Kroy could look so good. I think I have some in the stash. I'll have to have a look.
ReplyDeletei really like kroy.....and have made several pairs from it (the ones I've made my hubby have worn like iron!!!)....I've never seen this colorway, and I really love it!
ReplyDeleteTruly love the colors in that yarn. When I was reading your post my eyes looked at one of your sentences, my brain thought you said you were working with yarn made of horse hair and I thought, well that is new, horse hair for socks. Duh. I laughed at myself and thought you might get a kick out of that.
ReplyDeleteIf you consider knitting a battle, you might be in the wrong craft. Bwahahahaha!!!! Love the colors in that sock, and the stripes just thrill me. I agree on the Kroy, great yarn for the price.
ReplyDeleteI love those new Patons Kroy colors! This one you have is very cool! I have some in my stash to knit up, but I have some gift socks to knit up first!
ReplyDeleteI love the color of your Europe socks!! They look so soft and snuggly. I can't knit when I'm tired either. I tend to doze off. My husband says I start to snore but I don't believe that!
