This is the beginning of an autumn Clapotis. I'm going to modify the pattern to fit 1 hank of Blue Heron Metallic. I picked this up in a Seattle yarn shop, So Much Yarn. A cute shop, with really friendly people.
I have had to start this project twice. Even after knitting for the past few years, I'm not very good at reading patterns, I sort of fumble my way along. I think I was watching a documentary though the first time I cast on, or it was very late, and I wasn't convinced I had properly increased ... anyhow, here I am.
A common ground is just a cast on for now. Hopefully I'll have something to show you soon...
Have you started something new lately?
My knitting has seriously hampered my reading, but I'm enjoying my projects right now. I don't like to "work" with a book either; like you, I want to be entertained.
ReplyDeleteLove the Clapotis in that yarn and color. Enjoy!
I love the yarn color way!!
ReplyDeleteI don't read due to my knitting obsesssion .....I ve only read about 3 short books this year.
i am going to cast on a new vest soon .First ...swatching and yarn planning. I am very excited to knit this for me!
I am finding a pretty good balance between knitting and reading. I read in the car while we wait for the gate to open in the AM and I'll read more in the PM for pick up. Plus I read at night for a few. When I'm home I leave my book in the car so I'll get some crafting done.
ReplyDeleteI have the first Flavia book on my to-read list. Looks good! You look like you're doing well with that shawl. Sparkly is pretty!
That looks beautiful! I'm taking online classes right now, so that has seriously put a damper on the reading.
ReplyDeleteThe yarn you are using is so beautiful, do I detect a metallic thread running through it? I love to read, but often choose something simple and happy, life is hard enough without a big emotional novel.
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Meredith
